Hi, I'm Jac Vanek, and I’ve lived a lot of lives. You might know me from your MySpace Top 8, as “the bracelet girl,” the emo haircut reference photo you brought to your hairdresser in 9th grade, or the scene queen permanently living on your Tumblr dashboard. Maybe you bought a Jac Vanek tee from my tent at Warped Tour (and honestly, I have a feeling one of my flannels is still buried somewhere in the back of your closet). You might know my voice from the 2,500+ podcast episodes I’ve recorded over the last decade, but the real question is: are you a LadyGanger or a Firstie? Maybe you watched my one-and-done season of LADYGANG on E!, or maybe you've read one of my New York Times bestselling books about the good, bad, and ugly parts of being a woman. Or maybe you spend Thursdays spiraling down conspiracy rabbit holes with me on the Deep Dive.
But more than anything, I hope you know me now as an artist.
Art has become the thing that fills me up and pulls me apart all at once. The thing that challenges me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. After building so many versions of myself over the years, painting became the place where I finally felt most connected to who I really am: curious, emotional, nostalgic, imperfect, playful, and constantly exploring. I’ve grown up alongside so many of you, and I’m endlessly grateful that you’ve been here through every strange, beautiful chapter of it. A Jac of all trades, master of…well, at least a few.
